Meet Brian, Kirsten & Ziggy!

Hello there, we are your hosts Brian, Kirsten and dog Ziggy. We run and operate Backcountry Storage and Suites. We are both passionate about the outdoors and enjoy exploring the backcountry. Both Brian and Kirsten are originally from a small town in Saskatchewan. Our passion for the outdoors started long before we moved to BC. We often spent our time riding snowmobiles, quadding out in the hills and fishing.
What brought us to BC was snowmobiling, soon after moving here we realized that there are more ways to explore our beautiful area. The Shuswap has opened many opportunities for us to explore other passions such as dirt biking, paddle boarding on mountain lakes, boating and surfing, driving up mountain roads.
Adventure is at your doorstep here at Backcountry Storage and Suites and we want to bring that experience to you. Make yourself at home in our cozy space.

In the winter, the surrounding mountains offer some of British Columbia’s finest snowmobiling experiences, with accessible trails like Eagle’s Pass, Joss Pass, Griffin, Queest, Owl’s Head, Blue Lake, and Hunter’s Range within easy reach. Conveniently located just 10 minutes from Sicamous and 40 minutes from Revelstoke, Malakwa is the perfect base for your snowmobiling adventure.
